These Furmate size #8 booties (blue/beige) fit my Shepsky’s HUGE back paws! My GSD/Husky mix has very sensitive paws and he’s a “bit” rambunctious in the yard… This is a bad combo since his back paws easily get irritated from the grass and mulch causing lesions, which causes him to gnaw his paws, making it worse which can lead to a serious infection.I started using other booties to protect his back paws when it’s mucky outside (after it rains) or after I mow the lawn. I also use booties with wool socks to protect his paws while they heal up.The other booties I’ve used were “hit or miss” with the size and durability. Either they were too tight on the top of his paw or too narrow for his wide paws. I always taped them closed with stretchy vet tape to prevent him from biting them off +I buy stretchy bandages in bulk!). Needless to say, I’ve gone through several sets of booties which quickly rip or tear out just seem to fall apart after a few uses.For my situation, I need to have several multiple pairs on hand at all times, in different sizes, depending on if I need to use thick or thin socks with them, or if I need to fully bandage his paw also. And I need to be able to rotate through pairs when they get wet or dirty.Booties need to be roomy enough (to not cause irritation from tightness or improper sizing) but they also need to be tight enough to not slip off. And you really can’t use just one bootie at a time (either both back, both front, or all 4).So far, these booties seem to be the most well-made and they’re actually wide enough for my large dog’s bigger back paws. He hasn’t tried to chew them off yet and they aren’t t slipping off – very good signs! These will be a quite big on his front paws which would require 1-2 sizes smaller, but I rarely use them on from paws (that’s also why I keep different sizes, just in case he cuts his front paws).All in all, I am confident these booties will protect his paws properly and are easily washable. Note that I do not expect these to last forever, and every dog is different, but of the dozen or so booties I’ve purchased over the past 2 years, these really seem the best yet!The baby blue color matches his eyes too 🙂
