My nearly 15yr old Golden Retriever suffered some kind of stroke or something that temporarily had her back legs completely failing her. Thankfully she got movement and control back over the next 2 months or so, but she’s still a little weaker back there than she used to be and at her age she wasn’t jumping up and down off the bed to begin with. But the worst was how unsteady she had gotten on our hardwood and linoleum floors and one leg has been weaker than the other also making it a little tricky to get up sometimes.We’ve tried a few braces and things like that, but I think these little grippy stickers might be working the best. Once she gets a little purchase with her paw pad she can work herself up so the little extra traction helps with that sometimes. I noticed she started to feel a little surer of her footing with them on too. We threw down various rugs/carpets along our hallway and kitchen, but not the entire kitchen. Normally she would keep at least her hind two feet on the carpet while watching us cook, but with the stickers feet she now occasionally ventures fully up next to us like she used to.Also, I have to say the surprised me how well they stuck on her paw pads too. When I first put them on they didn’t feel like they were super sticky. I held her paws in my hand to kind of press them onto the pads a little stronger and maybe warm up the glue a bit. The first set I put on stayed on quite well, with no rain or snow that week. I peeled them off when small sections began coming off and they were on their really stuck. I decided to soak them like the package suggests after that and that made it a bit easier. The second time I put them just on her rear paws since her front paws don’t need the help as much and so a pack will last longer. But then it snowed the next day and got warm and her paws got wet. Half of the sticker kinda started coming off with that so I trimmed off the loose parts for now.I’m not yet sure how I feel about leaving them on her 24×7, I don’t want to keep her pads from airing out etc. I haven’t tried cutting them apart to stick on each “toe” individually yet, which would let the pads air out much better, but that will be my next attempt.Anyway, so far I’m really liking these things and a lot more than I anticipated. They aren’t that expensive so worth a shot if you have a dog that you think might benefit from a little extra traction.

These work as expected. Our Labrador puppy has major issues with traction on our hardwood floors. We’ve tossed runners and rugs around to help her until she (hopefully) grows more confident, but in the meantime we’re trying different solutions.I had a difficult time measuring her paws and couldn’t get a measurement in both directions that really aligned with any one size, so I went with the width in her front paws and chose XXL. As a reference, she’s a pure breed female and is 11 months old and currently weighs 58lbs. I believe the XXL’s will work now and likely when she’s full grown, but for the meantime, this size works.Her front paws are a bit larger than the rears, but XXL does work for both.When I first put them on, she proved that the traction is sufficient that these work. It will take her a bit of time to gain confidence when she’s not on a rug, but we certainly can tell these work.Initially, she wasn’t obviously aware these were on, but when she was laying down a few hours later, she began chewing at them and essentially chewed them enough that I removed them. I believe it will be a learning curve to get her used to them. Similarly, we first tried booties but those were a fail as she immediately began chewing them (I mentioned she’s a Labrador puppy) and wishing 2 minutes had chewed a hole through one of the boots. She also clomped around the house like Frankendog, whereas she walked normally with these adhesive grips.I did take her on a mile walk in these (dry asphalt and damp grass) and they held up just fine. They continued to work well on the hardwood after the walk and had it not been her effort to chew them off, they would have continued to work.I recommend these. Whether my pup gets used to them or not, they work as expected, fit well, have good adhesion and provide ample traction.
