Works well. My VERY food motivated ginger cat has given up trying to get into it. It is truly cat-proof. He can open the little yellow sliding door but that doesn’t matter.

This automatic feeder for WET FOOD is a great way to help keep your kitty on a schedule and prevent her from protesting when he/she thinks it’s time to eat. Instead of jumping on my desk and preventing me from working, she waits patiently by the feeder. I have a female kitty, and it doesn’t take long before she’s trained to sound of the machine and waits for food. It takes a lot of stress off me to be honest. Also, I set up this feeder to release portionsfour times a day, instead of twice a day which also relieves stress on the kitty. I am not feeding her more, just more often with less food. This unit came with FOUR ICE PACKS, which is ESSENTIAL if you need to put more than 8 to 12 hours of food in the feeder. Some other feeders only come with 2 ice packs, and you’ll have to get more to enjoy the full benefit of the feeder. Also, it’s not loud or dangerous because there’s a built-in resistance sensor just in case the kitty sticks her foot or face in the rotating section that holds the food. Hope this helps out anyone considering this feeder.

I do like this auto feeder and have ordered another one. I have seen comments where error codes or food trays not working are a problem and had this happen to me once . When I was re-filling the tray, I felt that it was not seated correctly and did not close easily and when I locked it closed there was an error code I waited a few minutes and the error cleared. Make sure freezer pack seats well and if the is a bulge, have it on the bottom. . I find that you need to not force it closed.

Overall this is a good feeder. I was having a hard time finding a feeder for wet food, as that’s all my cat eats anymore. It came with 4 icepacks (2 in use and 2 in freezer) and 6 feed compartments. Setting the time was a little tricky. I noticed the times would often change after I hit save, so I would have to go back and adjust. But once the correct time was set, it opens every time without fail. It was very important to me that this would be reliable, and after several test runs and actual times used, it has opened every single time. Don’t use this often, but very happy I have it. Would recommend.
